Quilt Sizes

King Quilt

A quilt sized for a king or California king bed, typically 108×108 inches or larger.

King quilts fit a standard king mattress (76×80 inches) or California king (72×84 inches). A generously sized king quilt is approximately 108×108 inches — nearly 10 feet square — requiring 12–16 yards of fabric and enormous blocks or many repetitions of smaller blocks. King quilts are the most impressive bed quilts to make and among the most challenging, primarily because of the sheer volume of fabric, the weight and bulk during assembly, and the quilting step.
