Throw / Lap Quilt

A throw or lap quilt is the most popular size among quilters because it is manageable to make, versatile to use, and the right size for most adult recipients. Standard throw dimensions are approximately 50×65 to 60×72 inches. A throw drapes nicely over a sofa or armchair, is the right size to wrap around a single adult, and fits in a guest room without overwhelming a twin bed. Because throw quilts are smaller than bed quilts, they are achievable weekend or short-term projects.
