Table Runner

A long, narrow quilted piece placed down the center of a dining table.

A table runner is a long, narrow quilt (typically 12–16 inches wide and 36–72 inches long) placed down the center of a dining table. Table runners are popular seasonal projects — many quilters make a collection for different holidays and seasons. Because they are small and quick, table runners make excellent gifts and are great projects for practicing new blocks or techniques without the commitment of a full quilt. They are typically lined and quilted like a small quilt, with binding around the perimeter.
