Layer Cake
A precut bundle of 10×10-inch squares, one of each print in a fabric collection.
A layer cake (a Moda trademark) contains forty-two 10-inch squares from a coordinated fabric collection. The 10-inch square is large enough to cut into multiple block components — four 5-inch squares, or various combinations of rectangles and squares. Layer cakes work well in patterns designed around large squares, simple big-block designs, or any project that benefits from large fabric cuts. They're popular for quick gift quilts and for showcasing large-scale prints.
