Jelly Roll
A precut bundle of 40 fabric strips, each 2.5 inches wide × the full fabric width, rolled into a 'roll'.
A jelly roll is a Moda Fabrics trademark name (now used generically) for a bundle of precut 2.5-inch strips from a coordinated fabric line. Each roll contains approximately 40 strips, one from each fabric in the collection, cut across the full 44-inch width. Jelly rolls are designed for strip-piecing projects — Rail Fence, Bargello, and jelly-roll-race quilts. They eliminate cutting time and guarantee coordination. Other brands use names like 'Rolie Polie' or 'Design Roll' for equivalent products.
