Self-Healing Cutting Mat

A gridded mat that protects the work surface when using a rotary cutter and heals after each cut.

A self-healing cutting mat is an essential companion to the rotary cutter. Made from a composite material that closes back up after each cut, the mat protects the work surface and extends blade life. Most mats are printed with a grid of inch and centimeter markings to help with rough cutting and alignment. Mats come in many sizes — a 24×36-inch mat is the practical minimum for cutting full fabric widths. Store mats flat, away from heat and direct sunlight, which can warp them.
