UFO (Unfinished Object)

UFO stands for Unfinished Object — a quilt (or any sewing project) that has been started but set aside before completion. Every quilter accumulates UFOs, and managing them is a recurring community joke and genuine challenge. UFOs might be cut and ready to sew, partially sewn into blocks, fully assembled as quilt tops waiting for quilting, or quilted tops waiting for binding. Many guilds run UFO challenges where members publicly commit to finishing a specific number of projects in a year.
