Flying Geese Block
A quilt block or border unit featuring rows of triangular 'geese' flying in formation.
Flying Geese as a block pattern consists of rows of flying geese units arranged so all geese point in the same direction, creating a sense of movement across the quilt. As a border, a continuous row of geese creates a dramatic directional frame. Flying Geese blocks also appear within complex patterns — four geese pointing toward a center form the classic Ohio Star's star points when combined with QST units. The name reflects the visual resemblance to a V-formation of migrating birds.
