Eight-Pointed Star (LeMoyne Star)

A star block made from eight diamond shapes meeting at a center point, requiring Y-seams.

The Eight-Pointed Star — also known as the LeMoyne Star or Star of LeMoyne — is a classic block where eight equal diamonds meet at a precise center point. Unlike the Ohio Star (which uses QSTs), the Eight-Pointed Star requires true diamond-shaped pieces and Y-seam construction at every intersection. The block can be made in one fabric or in alternating fabrics to create a two-toned star. Scaled up, this block becomes the Lone Star. Scaled down and repeated, it creates the overall look of Tumbling Blocks or Baby Blocks.
