Rust & Terracotta Quilting Fabric

Rust anchors a warm palette with olive, mustard, and cream, and it absolutely sings next to teal or navy — the cool contrast keeps all that earthiness from going flat. Blush pink is a lovely softer partner too.

Very — rust and terracotta are staples of the modern earthy palette, especially with lots of cream or oatmeal background. A rust accent in an otherwise neutral quilt reads current without feeling trendy.

For an accent color, a half yard to one yard usually covers a throw-size quilt's worth of pieced accents. Buy a little extra if the print is directional or large-scale, since fussy cutting eats fabric fast.
