Plaid & Gingham Quilting Fabric

Micro and small ginghams behave like blenders and suit small patches; larger buffalo checks want bigger patches or borders where the check stays legible. Mixing one small and one large check adds cozy depth.

Printed ginghams and plaids can be slightly off-grain, so cut by the printed line, not the selvage, when the check will be noticeable. Woven checks are the same on both sides and align naturally.

A large two-color check — classically red and black — that reads bold and rustic. In softer colors like sage or beige it turns cottagecore and pairs well with florals.
