Using the artwork
You may display the badge on your website, newsletter, printed handouts, and social posts, and resize it as long as the proportions stay the same.
Please don'trecolour it, stretch it, add effects, or use it in a way that suggests NiftyFifty endorses a product, sponsors an event, or vouches for work we haven't seen. The badge says “this business is listed in our directory” — nothing more.
Hot-link the image from our servers rather than saving a copy. That way, if we ever refresh the artwork, your site updates on its own.
Questions
- Does the badge cost anything?
- No. The badge is free, the listing is free, and using the badge is never required. Directory listings on NiftyFifty stay live whether or not you display anything on your own site.
- Do I have to be a claimed owner to use the badge?
- No. Anyone listed in the NiftyFifty directory can display the badge. Claiming your listing is separate — it lets you edit your own page — but the badge is open to every listed shop, guild, longarm studio, and quilt show.
- Where should I put the badge?
- The most natural spots are a Links page, a Resources page, the site footer, or a sidebar. Guilds often add it under 'Where to find us'; shops usually put it near their other directory listings and associations.
- Will the badge slow my website down?
- No. Each badge is a single SVG under 1.5KB — smaller than most favicons — and the snippet includes lazy loading, so it never blocks your page from rendering.
- Can I change the badge colours to match my site?
- There are four ready-made versions: light and dark, each in standard and small. If none of them work against your background, email us and we'll make one that does.
- What if my details are wrong on my listing?
- Claim the listing and you can edit it yourself, or send us a correction and we'll fix it. We'd rather be right than fast.
