WV Quilt Shop

WV Quilt Shop has been in Barboursville since 1999, set up inside a century-old hardware store — the kind of building with real history in its bones, which gives the shop a character you can't fake. What it's really known for, though, is the back room, where fabric is sold by the pound rather than by the yard.

That fabric-by-the-pound setup is a treasure hunt in the best sense — you dig, you find remnants and odd cuts you'd never see priced individually, and you come out with a bag of fabric for less than you'd expect. It's the kind of thing that makes a trip to this shop worth planning around.

Beyond that, they run classes and offer long-arm quilting education for quilters who want to learn the machine themselves rather than just sending tops out, plus the usual notions to round out a project. If you're in the Barboursville area, budget some real time for the back room.
