JJ Stitches

JJ Stitches has been part of downtown Sun Prairie since 1975, and it's run by a designer for Windham Fabrics — which means the person behind the counter isn't just selling reproduction prints, she's helped design some of the fabric lines quilters are buying up around the country.

That background shows in the shop's focus: reproduction fabrics and antique quilt patterns, the kind of small-scale calicos and old-fashioned prints that reproduction quilters go hunting for. They also carry flannels, homespuns, and wool, rounding things out for quilters working in those heavier textures.

Fifty years in a historic downtown building, run by someone who actually designs fabric for a living — that's a combination worth the visit if you're anywhere near Sun Prairie.
