3 Red Hens

3 Red Hens has been a fixture near the Canadian border in St. Thomas, North Dakota since 2007, and it wears its country-store roots plainly — this is a shop where quilting cotton shares space with yarn and a full custom drapery workroom, which tells you it serves the whole household, not just the quilters in it.

The fabric side leans toward Civil War and reproduction prints, the small-scale calicoes and muted tones that reproduction quilters go looking for and don't always find close to home. If that's your era, this is a shop worth knowing about.

There's long-arm quilting on site too, so a finished top doesn't have to travel far to become a finished quilt.
