Mix them — a large-scale feature print for big patches and borders, plus a tiny ditsy dino print that reads as texture in smaller pieces. The little prints also make great binding and back-of-quilt surprises.

Pull from the print: muted olive, sand, and rust suit the earthy prehistoric styles, while bright dinos love primary-color solids. A neutral background — cream or soft gray — keeps a busy dino print from overwhelming.

A toddler quilt around 40 by 55 inches needs roughly 2 to 3 yards for a simple pieced top, a yard and three-quarters for backing, and a third of a yard for binding. Simple big squares sew up fastest — dinos do the rest.
