The Amish Quilt
Eve Wheatcroft Granick
1994
Amish QuiltsGranick's research grew out of years traveling the Midwest with her antique-dealer husband specifically hunting Amish quilts, and the resulting book is treated as the authoritative scholarly account of the tradition — its origins, Pennsylvania Dutch cultural context, and the bold solid-color, graphic-geometric piecing style that developed apart from mainstream printed-fabric quilting. A serious reference text, not a pattern book.
