Stitches & Stories Quilting Bee

🧵 Quilting Bee Guidelines Welcome to our Quilting Bee! This bee is all about creativity, friendship, using our fabric stashes, and making beautiful quilts together! All skill levels are welcome, but members should be comfortable following a quilt block pattern and sewing an accurate ¼-inch seam. 👑 Queen Bee of the Month * Each month, one member will be designated Queen Bee. * The Queen chooses the quilt block pattern, color palette, and overall inspiration for that month. * The Queen must provide clear instructions, pattern information, and color inspiration photos at the beginning of her month. * If the Queen chooses a paid pattern, she is responsible for arranging legitimate pattern access for every member at no additional cost to them, with the designer’s permission or appropriate licenses. * The Queen may specify preferred fabric styles, colors, and backgrounds. 🪡 Fabric Requirements * Members will use their own fabric from their personal stash or purchase fabric if they choose. * 100% quilting cotton is required unless otherwise approved. * Scrap fabrics are absolutely welcome! * Fabrics should be clean, in good condition, and free from strong odors. * Please follow the Queen’s requested color palette as closely as possible. * Prewashing is not required unless the Queen specifically requests it. 📏 Block Requirements * Standard block size is 12.5 inches unfinished (12 inches finished), unless the group agrees otherwise. * Each member will make two block for the Queen each month. * Use an accurate ¼-inch seam allowance. * Follow the provided pattern and pressing instructions. * Blocks should be neatly constructed, with seams secure and no unfinished holes. * Please double-check your measurements before mailing. 📬 Mailing & Deadlines * Blocks must be mailed by the 20th of each month. * Each member is responsible for the cost of mailing their completed block. * Please package blocks securely to protect them during shipping. * Share a photo of your completed block and notify the Queen when it has been mailed. * Tracking is encouraged but not required. * If you anticipate being late, communicate with the Queen as soon as possible. ❤️ Participation & Commitment * This is a 12-month commitment. * Every member is expected to participate each month, including after their own Queen Bee month has passed. * Please do not join unless you can reasonably commit to the entire year. * Life happens! Communication is key if unexpected circumstances arise. * Repeated missed deadlines or failure to send blocks without communication may result in removal from the bee. * Treat every member with kindness and respect, regardless of experience level. * Members must provide a valid mailing address to their assigned Queen. Addresses must remain private within the group. ✨ Most Importantly Have fun, be creative, make friends, and enjoy seeing everyone’s unique fabric choices come together in a beautiful quilt! Every block is handmade with love, and that’s what makes this bee special!
