Pantograph
A continuous-line pattern template used by longarm quilters to guide an all-over quilting design.
A pantograph (or panto) is a paper template printed with a continuous-line quilting design — feathers, clamshells, spirals, Baptist fans, or custom patterns. The longarm quilter places the pantograph below the quilt frame and uses a laser pointer or stylus to trace the design while the machine stitches the pattern through the quilt layers above. Pantographs are used for all-over quilting on bed quilts and are faster than free-motion custom quilting. They are available commercially and can also be self-designed.
