The Rocky Mountain Columbine is a delicate white flower surrounded by a soft lavender pastel blue and represents the Colorado Rockies. It can be found in the high altitudes of the Rockies. It was discovered by a mountain climber called Edwin James in 1820 at Pikes Peak and was chosen to be Colorado's state flower by school children in 1899.
